How Can I Create URL Redirects?

URL redirects help ensure visitors are always guided to the right place, even when links change or pages are updated. They keep your site feeling seamless, intentional and easy to navigate.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Why use this?

Using URL redirects means you can change and improve your content without disrupting your audience. They help you avoid broken links, simplify long URLs and make sure every click leads somewhere intentional.

This is especially useful when updating offers, replacing old pages, sharing links on social media or moving visitors smoothly through your funnels and website.

What do you need to set up first?

Before adding a URL redirect, make sure you have:

  • Your domain or subdomain connected in FEA Create

  • The funnel you want to redirect to published

  • The website page you want to redirect to published

How long will it take?

Most URL redirects take less than two minutes to set up. Once saved, they usually work straight away, although in some cases it can take a few hours to update.

Adding a URL Redirect in FEA Create

Step 1: Open URL Redirects

Go to Settings in FEA Create, then select Domains & URL Redirects. At the top of the page, choose URL Redirects.

Step 2: Add a new redirect

Click Add Redirect. A guided popup will open where you can set up your redirect.

Step 3: Choose the source domain

Under Redirect From, select the domain where the redirect should apply.

Next, choose whether you want to redirect:

  • A Specific Path, such as /freebie or /offer

  • The Entire Domain, which redirects all traffic from that domain

If you select Specific Path, enter the path you want to redirect. For example, if the original link was yourwebsite.com/freebie-2024, enter /freebie-2024.

If you select Entire Domain, no path is required. All visits to that domain will be redirected.

A live preview will appear so you can clearly see the full source URL.

Step 4: Choose where the redirect goes

Under Redirect To, choose where visitors should be sent. You can redirect to:

  • A Custom URL

  • A Funnel step

  • A Website page

If you are redirecting an entire domain, you can:

  • Choose from your existing connected domains

  • Select Custom Domain to redirect to an external domain that is not connected to your account

When using Custom Domain, enter only the domain or subdomain, such as example.com or go.example.com. Paths like /about are not supported for full domain redirects.

Again, a live preview will show you exactly how the redirect will behave.

Step 5: Save the redirect

Once everything looks correct, click Add Redirect to save.

Editing URL Redirects

After a redirect is created, the source settings are locked to prevent accidental changes. You can still edit the target destination if you need to update where the redirect points.

Validation and error handling

The new redirect experience includes built-in checks to help you get things right first time. You will see instant feedback if:

  • A URL format is not supported

  • A redirect already exists

  • A required field is missing

Example use cases

  • Redirecting an old freebie page like /freebie-2024 to a new version such as /freebie-2025

  • Creating a short, easy-to-share link for a sales page

  • Redirecting an entire domain to a new website or external domain

Managing URL Redirects

You can create multiple redirects, but it is best to keep things tidy and intentional.

To remove a redirect, click the trash icon next to it.

How can I test this?

The easiest way to test a redirect is to open a new private or incognito browser window and enter the original URL. This helps avoid cached results and shows you exactly what a first-time visitor will experience.

If the redirect does not work straight away, wait a few minutes and try again. If it still does not redirect, double-check the path and target settings.

By using the updated URL Redirects in FEA Create, you can confidently guide visitors to the right place and create a smoother, more intuitive experience across your site.
