How to Set Up a Domain and Professional Email with Microsoft 365

Learn how to set up a professional business email with Microsoft 365 using your domain and connect it to FEA Create for branded websites, funnels, and email marketing.

Updated this week

To use FEA Create, you'll need to connect a custom domain so you can publish your website. And if you want to send emails through FEA Create’s email marketing tools, you'll also need a professional business email address linked to your domain.

One of the most common ways to do this is by using Microsoft 365 to host your business email.

In this article, you’ll learn how to:

• Set up a Microsoft 365 business email account
• Connect your existing domain to Microsoft 365
• Create a professional email like [email protected]
• Connect your domain and email to FEA Create

By the end, you'll be set up to run your website and email marketing from a branded, professional domain like yourbusiness.com and [email protected].

💡 If you purchased your domain through a provider like GoDaddy, you can still follow this guide. Microsoft 365 will simply ask you to add a few DNS records with your domain provider.

Why Use Microsoft 365 for Your Business Email?

Microsoft 365 is one of the most widely used professional email platforms for businesses. It allows you to create secure email addresses using your domain while also giving you access to tools like Outlook.

Benefits include:

• A professional email address like [email protected]
• A reliable inbox hosted by Microsoft
• Strong email deliverability and security
• Access to Outlook for managing your inbox

It’s a great option if you want a stable and widely supported email platform for your business.

What You Need Before You Start

Before setting up Microsoft 365, make sure you have the following:

1. A domain name
Example: yourbusiness.com

2. Access to your domain’s DNS settings
You will need this to connect your domain to Microsoft 365.

3. Your desired email address
Examples include:

How Long Does Setup Take?

Most users complete this setup in 15–30 minutes.

However, DNS updates can take a little time to propagate across the internet, so it may take up to 24–48 hours for everything to fully verify.

Step 1: Create a Microsoft 365 Account

  1. Click Buy Now or Get Started

  2. Choose a Microsoft 365 Business plan that includes email (such as Microsoft 365 Business Basic).

  3. Create your Microsoft account and business profile.

During the setup process, Microsoft will ask if you want to use your own domain.

Choose the option to use an existing domain.

Step 2: Add Your Domain to Microsoft 365

Enter your domain name when prompted.

Example:

yourbusiness.com

Microsoft will now ask you to verify that you own this domain.

Step 3: Verify Domain Ownership

To verify your domain, Microsoft will provide a TXT record that must be added to your domain’s DNS settings.

It will look similar to this:

Type: TXT Host/Name: @ Value: MS=ms12345678

To add this record:

  1. Log into your domain provider

  2. Open your DNS settings

  3. Click Add Record

  4. Select TXT

  5. Paste the value Microsoft provided

  6. Save the record

Return to Microsoft 365 and click Verify.

Once verified, Microsoft will confirm that you own the domain.

Step 4: Create Your Business Email Address

Next, Microsoft will guide you through creating your first mailbox.

For example:

Create a password and finish the account setup.

Your email inbox can now be accessed through:

Step 5: Update Your Domain’s Email Records (MX Records)

To ensure emails sent to your domain go to Microsoft 365, you'll need to update your MX records.

Microsoft will provide the exact records required.

They will look something like this:

Type: MX Host: @ Value: yourbusiness-com.mail.protection.outlook.com Priority: 0

To add this record:

  1. Log into your domain provider

  2. Open DNS settings

  3. Remove any existing MX records

  4. Add the MX record Microsoft provides

  5. Save your changes

This step tells the internet that Microsoft 365 will handle email for your domain.

Step 6: Add Additional Email Security Records (Recommended)

Microsoft may also recommend adding additional records such as:

SPF
DKIM
CNAME records

These help improve email deliverability and prevent emails from being marked as spam.

Microsoft will provide the exact records needed during setup.

Simply add these records to your domain’s DNS settings the same way you added the TXT and MX records.

Step 7: Test Your Email

Once the records have been added:

  1. Send an email from your personal inbox to
    [email protected]

  2. Reply from your Microsoft 365 inbox.

If both emails send and receive correctly, your business email is working.

Step 8: Connect Your Email to FEA Create

To ensure your emails sent from FEA Create look professional and reach your audience’s inbox, you’ll also need to connect a dedicated sending domain.

This improves deliverability for your email marketing.

Connect Your Dedicated Email Domain

Inside FEA Create:

  1. Go to Settings

  2. Click Email Services

  3. Select Create Dedicated Domain

Enter the following:

lc.yourbusiness.com

Click Add.

FEA Create will show the DNS records required for verification.

Add these records in your domain provider’s DNS settings if they are not added automatically.

💡 Make sure your main email address (like [email protected]) is already working before completing this step.

Step 9: Final Checks

Return to Email Services inside FEA Create and confirm that all records show as Verified.

If any records still show Not Verified, give them some time to propagate and check again.

Most DNS updates complete within a few hours but may take up to 48 hours.

That's It!

You’ve now:

• Set up a Microsoft 365 business email
• Connected your domain
• Created a professional inbox
• Configured your email sending domain inside FEA Create

Your business email is now ready to use with your website, funnels, and email marketing.
