Sometimes circumstances mean it’s time to move your domain to a different provider. We understand and it’s absolutely possible to transfer your domain when the time is right.
This guide walks you through the process step by step in simple language so you can feel confident at every stage.
An important note about the 60 day rule
If your domain was recently purchased or moved into FEA Create there is a short waiting period before it can be transferred again.
By regulation, domains cannot be transferred within the first 60 days of being registered or transferred. This rule is set by ICANN and applies to all domain providers not just FEA Create.
Once those 60 days have passed you are free to move your domain wherever you choose.
Step 1: Decide where you want your domain to go
Before you start the transfer decide which domain provider you would like to move your domain to. This could be any registrar you trust and feel comfortable using.
Your new provider will ask for a transfer code later in the process so it helps to have your account set up with them first.
Step 2: Open your domain settings in FEA Create
Log in to FEA Create and go to Settings.
From there select Domains & Redirects.
Find the domain you want to move and click Manage next to it.
Step 3: Access the transfer option
Inside your domain settings:
This is where FEA Create prepares your domain for transfer.
Step 4: Get your transfer code
You will be asked where you are transferring your domain to.
You will then need to unlock your domain.
Once confirmed FEA Create will generate a transfer code (sometimes called an authorisation code).
This code will be sent to you via email.
Step 5: Complete the transfer with your new provider
Head over to your new domain provider and start their domain transfer process.
When prompted paste in the transfer code you received from FEA Create.
After that your new provider will guide you through the final confirmation steps.
What happens next
Domain transfers usually take a few days to complete. During this time your domain should continue working as normal.
Once the transfer is finished your domain will be fully managed by your new provider.
